Philipp Krebs (b. 1994) is a composer and cultural manager.

He studied composition with Luxa M. Schüttler and Marco Stroppa at the University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart, with Gordon Kampe at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama, and philosophy at the University of Stuttgart.

He is the artistic co-director of the trio Pony Says and lived and worked in Paris at the Cité des Arts in 2023-24, financed by a scholarship.

Concerts and performances have taken place at ECHT BRÜCKEN Cologne, BLURRED ENDS Hamburg, cresc. biennale Frankfurt a.M., Der Sommer in Stuttgart, Donaueschingen Musiktagen Next Generation, ECLAT Festival Stuttgart, Klub Katarakt Hamburg, Kyung Hee Composition Festival Seoul and Ultraschall Berlin, among others. His works have been performed in collaboration with the AAA—AAA guitar duo, Decoder Ensemble, emex-Ensemble, Ensemble Garage, Ensemble Modern, ensemble recherche, electronic ID, ICTUS, LJE Neue Musik Baden-Württemberg, NAMES, Pony Says and Suono Mobile.

In addition to notation-based pieces, his portfolio includes works for theater, film and installation.
Artistically, Philipp Krebs is concerned with current trends and tendencies in the design of sound and soundtracks in the media of pop-cultural mainstream. As an enthusiastic consumer and ideology-critical recipient of cinema films, video games or streaming formats, he is always looking for those interfaces where pop and “high” culture intersect and interact across genres.
