Aigerim Seilova

Born in 1987 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. Since 2018, she has been working on her doctorate under Prof. Dr. Georg Hajdu, Prof. Dr. Nina Noeske and Prof. Elmar Lampson at the Hamburg University of Music and
Theater Hamburg. She studied composition in Moscow and Hamburg. She studied composition at the Moscow State P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory, completed a diploma in composition in 2013 and a master’s degree in multimedia composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg in 2017.
Her compositions include works for solo instruments, chamber ensembles and orchestra, which have been performed at festivals such as “Spring im Negev”, “Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival”, “Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker”, “Weimarer Frühjahrstage”, “aDevantgarde-Festival, ‘Blurred Edges’, ‘Nauryz XXI’ and ‘Chelsea Music Festival’. She received a scholarship from the DAAD, the “Pro Exzellenzia” scholarship and the Zukunftsstipendium of the Landesmusikrat Hamburg. and in 2016 she was a Composition Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (Leonard Bernstein Fellowship).
In 2019, she was awarded the 2019 Hindemith Prize at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. She is a fellow of the “Akademie Musiktheater heute”.
