Juan Manuel Jaramillo Lleras
Multimedia composer, drummer and improviser interested in working with sound, image, light and movement through experimentation and technology. He has written works for instrumental and electronic formats, including video and lighting, in which he explores several notational models and relations between composition and improvisation. In addition to participating in spontaneous groups and ensembles of extreme and improvised music, he is also a drummer in Bogotá-based bands such as Hermanos Menores, Pleura and Tristán Alumbra.
He studied music composition with Julián Valdivieso and jazz drumming with Jorge Sepúlveda at Javeriana University in Bogotá, and multimedia composition at the University of Music and Theater in Hamburg with Alexander Schubert and Georg Hajdu.
