Lara Hahnel

Cornelia Monske is a professor at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre. She was born in Hanover, studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg (diploma), then at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart with Prof. Klaus Treßelt (postgraduate studies and concert exam) and at the Taho-Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo with Prof. Keiko Abe. Monske received, among other things, the scholarship of the German Music Council. She is one of the most renowned percussionists in Germany. Her tour of Russia with the Philharmonie Hungarica brought her international fame as early as 1995.
As a soloist, she regularly performs in Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Hamburg, Hanover, Cologne, Mannheim, Stuttgart and Munich and is particularly dedicated to contemporary music: together with the Philharmonia Hungarica under the direction of Georg Alexander Albrecht, she took on the world premiere of Tilo Medek’s ‚Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra‘ and most recently the world premiere of the 2nd movement of Altug Ünlüs‘ percussion piece ‚Danses‘ in cooperation with the ‚Hamburg Ballet John Neumeier‘.
