Kiloh Lee
South Korean composer Kiloh Lee (born in 1996 in Göttingen) received his first piano lessons at the age of six. He studied composition at the Lübeck University of Music under Prof. Dieter Mack and Prof. Dr. Katharina Rosenberger. He continued his master’s studies in composition under Milica Djordjević. In the field of electroacoustic music, he has collaborated with Donny Karsadi, Pedro González Fernández, Martin von Frantzius, and Gary Berger. He is currently continuing his studies with Prof. Nicola L. Hein and Kristin Kuldkepp.
His composition “Self-Portrait” received its world premiere on the 20th anniversary of the carillon in the St. Johann Town Hall tower. In addition, he participated in the “Klangrausch Saarbrücken” event series. He received second prize in the composition category at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition. He has participated in various projects and festivals, including the “Klima” lecture series, the International Festival of University Studios for Electronic Music at the ZKM Karlsruhe, the Festival for Intangible Art (Elbphilharmonie), as well as an audiovisual walking concert marking the 100th anniversary of the silent film classic Nosferatu at the Lübeck University of Music, and the “Klangrausch” and “Klangtauchen” festivals in Lübeck. In May 2023, he also organized the concert project “Consuming Music” with a group of artists at a Korean restaurant.
