10 Years Non-Piano/Toy Piano Weekend
23.11.2024 / resonanzraum
The Non-Piano/Toy Piano Weekend celebrates its 10th anniversary under the theme “Kaleidoscope,” offering a vibrant array of new and familiar musical impulses. A special highlight of the festival is a tribute to Queen Liliuokalani, Hawaii’s last queen, whose musical legacy is honored through a new piece by Tonia Ko. Together with an additional work for ukulele and toy piano by Albrecht Zummach, we are bringing a touch of Hawaii to Hamburg. We are also thrilled to feature compositions by Daniel Moreira and Karlheinz Essl, two key figures who have shaped the festival from its very beginning.
Our special guest is the Finnish violist Mari Viluksela who will enchant with a special selection of shimmering virtuosic and sparkling pieces! In addition the Non-Piano Ensemble will be joined by Gudula Rosa (recorder) and Marcia Lemke-Kern (soprano).
Get ready for the 7 new birthday premieres from composers such as Aigerim Seilova, Shuang Wu and Alessandro Anatrini helping us celebrate this very special landmark occasion!
