Gudula Rosa

“Gudula Rosa is a recognised authority on advanced recorder art at the Münster Musikhochschule and a superbly daring interpreter of new music.” (NMZ).

She collaborates with composers, visual artists, speakers, dancers and improvisers and has performed premieres by Peter Gahn, Il-Rhyn Chung, Gerald Eckert, Violeta Dinescu, Keiko Harada, Michiharu Matsunaga, Kunsu Shim, Makoto Shinohara, Qin Wenchen, Min-Chi Chang, Pèter Koeszeghy, Antoine Beuger, Jörg-Peter Mittmann, Johannes Marks, among others.

As a soloist and member of various ensembles, she performs at home and abroad. Her concert tours have taken her to Japan, China, Malaysia, Ecuador, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the USA and many European countries.

She has performed with the NOTABU Ensemble für Neue Musik/ Düsseldorf, the musikFabrik NRW, the Tokyo Orchestra Nipponica, the Ensemble Stationen NRW, the symphony orchestras of the cities of Münster, Osnabrück and Dortmund and the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie, among others.

The CD Double Talk – Contemporary Japanese Music, released in 2002, documents her many years of collaboration with the koto virtuoso Makiko Goto. The CD recorded at Sender Freies Berlin (Dreyer.Gaido CD 21005) was internationally acclaimed by the press (“Wahre Klangwunder”, “Herausragend!”, “Höchstes Lob!”). At the beginning of 2008, her CD Ko Ku with works by East Asian composers and John Cage for recorder and percussion, recorded for Radio Bremen, was released (Dreyer.Gaido CD 21039).

Today she teaches at the Musikhochschule Münster and is project leader of the Gifted Academy of the Westphalian School of Music and the Musikhochschule Münster. www.gudularosa.de
